Safety Rules at H2O

General health and safety rules 

• Follow our Shower, Swim, Snack rules for a safe and enjoyable visit.
• No glassware of any type is allowed on poolside.
• No eating is permitted on poolside.
• Walk with care; our floors can be slippery.
• Get help from our staff if you start to feel unwell.
• If you are pregnant, have a serious illness, heart or respiratory condition, high or low blood pressure, or any other medical condition, please check with a medical professional before using the pool and facilities.
• If you have been sick with a tummy bug, please avoid swimming at H₂O Xtream for at least 2 weeks after experiencing any stomach illness.
• If you have children with you during your visit, please ensure that you are either swimming or supervising them at a close distance where you can see, hear, and be heard by your child.
• All toddlers under the age of 4 are required to wear a waterproof nappy when in the pool.

Safety rules around children

GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES – UNDER 5s

• Please maintain a ratio of one adult to two children under 5s.
• All children under 5 must have a swimming adult with them at all times.
• The swimming adult must be in the water within arm's reach at all times.
• All toddlers under the age of 4 are required to wear a waterproof nappy when in the pool.
• The adult who is swimming with the child under 5 must wear an ORANGE band at all times.

GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES – 5 to 9 YEARS OLD

• Please maintain a ratio of one adult to four children between ages 5 to 9 years old.
• The supervising adult does not need to be in the water but they must be actively supervising the children.
• This means that they must be at a close distance where you can see, hear and be heard by your child.
• The supervising adult must be prepared to provide immediate help to their child between 5 to 10 years old when needed.
• All children between the ages of 5 to 9 years old must wear a GREEN band at all times.

Safety rules for Wave Pool and Rapid River Ride

While your safety is our priority and our qualified lifeguards are always on duty, patrolling all pool areas to ensure a fun and safe environment for everyone, we ask that you keep these safety measures in mind when using the Wave Pool and Rapid River Ride. 

• The Wave Pool reaches 1.8m, and the Rapid River Ride is 1.2m deep with strong currents—these areas require strong swimming skills.
• If you’re not a confident swimmer, we recommend staying in the shallow areas.
• Children should always be supervised by an adult.
• If you are with children under 10 years of age, please make sure that you refer to our health and safety rules for them. Those rules will apply even when using our Wave Pool and Rapid River Ride.

Safety rules for slides

For your safety and enjoyment, all riders MUST meet both the age and height restrictions first before they are allowed on the slides. 

Please follow these important health and safety rules while using the slides:

• Age restriction: Children under the age of 5 years old are not allowed to ride on the slides.
• Height restriction: Children under 1.02 metres tall are not allowed to ride the slide. 
• One rider at a time: Only one person is allowed on the slide at a time.
• Glasses: Glasses must be securely attached or removed before riding the slide.
• Swimwear restrictions: No swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation.
• Maximum weight: The slide has a maximum operational load of 1 person and 136kg.
• Riding position: The slide must be ridden feet first, lying down on your back.
• Signal from staff: Please wait for the staff’s signal before starting your ride.
• Safety actions: Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate, or stop while on the slide.
• End of slide: Upon reaching the end of the slide, please follow all instructions from the staff and exit quickly and safely.

Safety rules for spa, steam and sauna

• All users must be over 16 years of age.
• Please shower before entering the pools after you have used our hot spots.
• Please do not wear street clothes in the sauna and steam room. Appropriate swimwear only.
• Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
• Take a break from any of the hot spots after every 15 minutes.
• Please sit on a towel when using the steam and sauna rooms.
• Do not pour water or essential oils on the wood or elements.
• Do not obstruct vents or elements.
• Seek help from staff if you start to feel uncomfortable or dizzy.
• If you are pregnant, have a serious illness, heart or respiratory condition, high or low blood pressure, or any other medical condition, please check with a medical professional before use. 
• The spa pool is drained every Friday for regularly scheduled cleaning.
