Swimmers build their distance, speed and increase their stamina and endurance. Swimmers receive coaching in technique for all swim strokes.
Our structured coaching programme is swimmer-centred which means it is designed to work with each swimmer to assist them in attaining their goals, whether this is competitive swimming, distance swimming, triathlon, cross training or swimming for fitness and fun.
For swimmers who have completed the Wavebreakers Learn to Swim programme. Swimmers can continue to refine their technique in all four competitive swim strokes. They will also be introduced to the basic elements of competitive swimming such as starts, turns and finishes.
There are 3 levels to progress through and swimmers are moved onto the next level when they have achieved the required skills.
On completion of junior squad the swimmers will be able to swim 200 metres freestyle and backstroke, 100 metres breaststroke, 25 metres butterfly, perform basic starts, turns and finishes for each stroke.
